MTECH DREAM OBSTACLES

I started to dream Mtech. But the reasons for hesitation are,
First: completely lost the touch with what I have studied in Btech.
Second: whether I can study again ... that doubt
Third: I want more practical and experimenting opportunity than theory ( in electronics and embedded programming)... whether mtech can provide that facility ?
Fourth: After Mtech what I will do,if I didn't get job , ????( After seeing some good teachers, I start to find interest in teaching...this is a positive thing )
Fifth: Money...,,.. currently I am getting some what good salary. What will people (friends and classmates) tell if I don't get a job better than this ??

I am struggling to take a decision.

Da I feel that if you really have that inner motivation to study all the doubts will go away. Dont try to see the obstacles. Try to see the positives. Take a paper and write down why you actually want to do Mtech (eg: to get more practical knowledge in EC and embedded etc). List down all points, be it anything. Dream that future to be the best. Always think best and give your best. Now you have a goal.

Next what is needed is action. Decide upon a time frame you wish to complete the Mtech. Now list down what all you should do to achieve the same. Prepare well to achieve the goal. Think always of the dream and get motivated. Pray well too, that will help you a lot in staying on track.

Now for your reasons you mentioned, let me try to help you.
(1) It may be true that you lost touch with Btech subjects. But if you delay your higher studies, you will be losing the touch more and more. Also 1 year is too less to be completely lost. It will all come back once you look at it again.

(2) Why you feel you couldnt study again? Are you learning new things everyday be it at linux, at the industry or in day to day living? Life is a journey to achieve the dream one is passionate about. Dont get laid down by the feelings like this all. Think positive, if you cant study, who else can? Think and say so. Believe yourself.

I feel that if you find the field in which you wish to pursue your higher studies (This field should be your dream stuff - a passion) you will give your full to achieve it and then studying will be like doing the thing you like the most. It will sure be enjoying.

(3) As per my understanding you will get more practical knowledge in Mtech. You can contact Robinson or other friends of yours to know more about this. They could provide you with first hand experience.

(4)Again be positive. Dont get held down by thoughts as this. Feel that you are capable. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Pray well, Study well, Give your best, you are sure to join some more wonderful place. If you have real interest in teaching, then you can take up that too as a profession.

(5) Why should you look at others? Believe me, what people tell or do is there matter and should not affect you. What you should be worried is whether is each step you take in life is getting you to your ultimate dream. What all people tell, you hear it, take only what you feel is needed, and ALWAYS take decision yourself. Opinions from people do matter, but final decision should be yourself. Simply omit all negative criticisms from people unless there is something to be learnt out of it.

As for the money thing, again ask is it money your aim? Then go for MBA. Is it passion to do something practical R&D stuff? Do MTech/MS. MTech/MS is also a rewarding career and you will earn well if you do get into some reputed institute for the course (Make sure you get into IISc/IIT - dream that you are actually there) and get placed into good company (which you will eventually - you have the talent).

Hope I have helped you in making your decision. Pray and start. You will reach great heights. Dream and dream like you are actually there. Live the dream. Think how you will be when you achieve the dream. Stay positive. All the best.

this is really valuable(may be turning point ) comment in my life. You can expect some risky steps ( I don't know, how much capable I am for a Mtech ) from me .

I have the Btech Books. But I forgot to buy specific Mtech preparation books. Surely I will contact Ajith as well as Robinson.

Da go through the following blog also.
http://exam-gate.blogspot.com/2008/06/preparing-for-gate.html

He is my brother's class mate at NIT Trichy, an EEE guy. He got All India Rank -3 for 2008 Gate exam. He joined CEDT at IISc as Robinson's junior. The blog is really motivational and also describes the book he studied. He is a very simple guy, I think you can ask him also for any clarifications.
